house hunt monday

Once upon a time we lived here.

We transformed an ugly duckling that no-one wanted, had been on the market
for a couple of years, the owners were desperate, you know the story.

There was so much room it was ridiculous and I could swap around furniture from floor to floor and you bet thats just what I did, any chance I got.

All three levels sometimes changing in a day.

Lounge became dining, TV room became bedroom, study became sewing room.

Even the kids would wake up and if there were no plans for the day we would switch their rooms for fun.

Just because we could. We always had outgrown our other homes and this was the first time the kids had ever had their very own rooms. But then we sold it, downsized and moved back to the city.

This is how we found it.

This is how we left it.

It was 3 years of hard work.
We will build next time, not renovate. For now we are renting and are happy in our little two-bedroom-plus-study cottage. We simply have outgrown it. We were almost empty nesters. Well....
the kids are moving back in!
Today I wanted to sew and update the shops but we went househunting instead.

Did you find anything. I just love looking. I think I should have been an architect instead of a housewife (or pensioner). We are house hunting too. It's really hard to let the head do the decisions as I also love working out where things should go and how to make an impossible situation real. I don't think my kids would have coped well with you. They treat me like I am partially demented everytime I move things around, which I mostly only do because someone else moves back and I am trying to cram more into my little home. All the best. Hope you find what you are looking for. Cherrie

Love your renovation skills. Isn't it amazing what you can achieve with some white paint. My house is currently receiving the white paint makeover as I couldn't stand the custard for a minute longer. Good luck finding new digs. melx
