simplicity

Im looking for inspiration to make my dress for Navarh's wedding.
This is an old book ive had for a while and I love it so much. It reminds me of when my mum used to teach me to sew and the older methods that are somewhat lost. I like to browse through its pages. It opens up possibilities of different finishes and hems.

for instance theres
french dressmakers hems
shell hemming
 overhanding
overcasting
back stitching
slip stitch edging
not to mention whipping

So many stitches, so little time.
Im looking forward to trying a couple of new ones when I begin the dress.
Oh! Ive decided on the colour RED.

Talking about hems, make sure your hubby doesn't step on it this time..... And don't forget the safety pins......:0)

Ooo red, I love red.
I wore a black dress with red bolero knit jacket at my brothers engagement. Megan wore a very red dress! Go red!!!
With you dark hair, stunning!!! Cant wait to see wedding photos.

Yikes, I'm hyperventilating at the thought of all those sewing processes - yet swooning at the possible outcome. Can't wait to see your progress!

I love simplicity sewing books! I also love how they included older women back then, you never really see that these days, in fact maybe even at all?
