back in the habit: day ?

Alright.....
so I have no idea which day it is for PMM's Back In The Habit. Apart from any excuses I should come up with, but wont, the bad news is that I still cant load photos (grrrr) and I even did a photoshoot with the dog because, well, I could. Besides, hes pretty gorgeous.
The good news is that I have been walking him more often since admitting my deficit, (ive only missed five days but one day we went twice) so hes back in love with me and looks at me longingly through the kitchen window in the mornings (even when it takes me all day to get around to it!) This is opposed to sulking every time I drove out the driveway. Theres nothing more heart wrenching than watching your dog crawl under the house for attention.

making the dog jealous

We were spending the evening in our garden the other day and it was nice so I went inside for my camera to take shots of him and the dog as they were sharing a moment.
After multi shots of doglove I said, 'look at me'.
So this is how he looks at me,
and this is how I look at him.

its finished!

My husband is an artist and he started this deer painting loosely based on the old well known 'A Highland Stag' for our daughters wedding gift. I suppose its that time old adage of 'a builders house is never finished' etc. dont quite remember how it goes.

Well. Its finished!
He finally finished the long overdue painting on the weekend. She came down and demanded it. She and hubby have celebrated their second anniversary and had a baby since he started this.

My favourite part. I dont know how well you know me yet but I simply love trees and plants and leafy things, hence my blog name. Love is an understatement. Obsession fits.

His favourite part. Remind you of someone?

A certain dog by the name of Rustico? He loves that dog.

shadows

I used to work in a Polish restaurant and this tiny little creature visited me while opening up one day.
Life is full of unexpected moments that make you laugh. His shadow was 5 times his size. Shame I seem to have cut off his head and ears, they went for miles. I found a humourous photo taken by Camilla Engman over here. Its quite brilliant.

things that make me happy

watching my newly engaged son with his fiancee...
they talk every moment of the day

fixing random rock walls...
even if its in a car park in northern Ireland and ill possibly never see it again

having only my dog for company....
hes very quiet

watching my son skate...
even if he does get disappointed for not landing it

having a nice tidy kitchen to stare at...
for longer than half an hour

jumping in the pool with my kids to take strange underwater photos ....
even when we laugh til we swallow water

(gratuitous)

knowing Ive been to Paris...
while wearing a vintage fur coat my husband found for me while I was asleep

standing immersed in ancient gravity defying architecture...
even though I was soaked through from a freak Barcelona downpour

this man eating...
hes a real foodie and he loves to cook for me

seeing a rainbow appear when we had just celebrated our 25th anniversary of the day we met

having a son who loves to dance...
and looks pretty damn good in a suit I might add

knowing that out of all of the photos....
my son chose to put this one of us on his facebook profile picture

ps. let me know if youd like to see more from the bottom of the pool.
We have about 100
